Malpani, a recipient of many National and State awards is a highly respected specialist surgeon having three decades of experience at government posts including Head of Department of Surgery and President, Rajasthan chapter of Association of Surgeons at top medical schools and hospitals and has trained man clinicians in the field of surgery. He also worked as Professor and Head of the department in RNT Medical College, Udaipur and Professor and Head of Unit in SMS Medical College, Jaipur.
